Great information!!!!!!!
But it doesn't sway me at all.
Niagara barely escaped Cellar Dweller LaSalle 82-80 less than a week ago. Remember, basketball is a team sport. It's my contention that Niagara still doesn't fully match-up to Siena. If they hadn't outrebounded LaSalle then they would have been toast. Niagara shot 40% against them.
They won't have such an edge on the boards toniught. You can say that it wont be 40-26 like last time, perhaps more like 34-28. The points are very inviting when you consider that LaSalle's leading scorer fouled out in that game and LaSalle still outscored Niagara in the second half!
Then we have the St. Peters game:
Niagara blasted that hapless team 88-55! St. Peters shot 15% from the 3 point line, and it wasn't because of great defense on Niagara's part. If you look closely, you'll see that there are not many steals coiming from that squad (3 steals against St. Peters)
A Telling stat:
Niagara has not blocked a shot in the last three games! And 1 blocked shot in the last 6 games!
They have a good team, that's why I think it will be close. Niagara will probably be leading at the half, but this Niagara team has a penchant for getting their pockets picked and they don't play the best defense in the world. The recent additions to the team will even the numbers, but the result will be the same.
74-70 Siena.
This "new" Niagara team barely survived LaSalle!
A day after Niagara barely escape pitiful LaSalle, Siena went to war with Maryland and nearly out rebounded them. Siena was tied with the Terps at the half 41-41!
