It seems Chuck Knoblauch has an easier time throwing a humidifier than a baseball to first base.
Knoblauch was arrested on Wednesday after he assaulted his ex-wife during a late-night altercation at her home in Houston, according to police. Knoblauch smashed her head against a wall and then threw a humidifier at her, according to the police report.
Cheri Lynn Knoblauch told police she was sleeping in her child’s bedroom when Knoblauch, 46, pushed open the door and began screaming at her, saying “she should have slept with him.”
Memo to Chuck: She's your ex-wife you ungrateful moron. This isn't the first time Knoblauch has physically abused a woman either. He was convicted four years ago in a domestic violence case for smacking his wife at the time, Stacey Stelmach.
Knoblauch was selected to the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame earlier this year, but the team has now canceled an induction ceremony that was set for him on Aug. 23. That's canceled not postponed.
Good for the Twins. It's too bad Roger Goodell didn't do something stronger with another physical domestic abuser, Ray Rice. Goodell suspended Rice for just two games despite Rice allegedly knocking out his then fiancée and then dragging her out of an Atlantic City hotel elevator this past February. What the hotel room he was staying in didn't have a phone?
This lady, Janay Palmer, has married Rice since the incident. This boggles my mind. Rice could have killed her. And then he doesn't have the decency to call for medical attention. Yet Palmer still marries him. How can you marry someone who did this to you?
On the handicapping front, I split my two underdog paid plays on Thursday losing with the Cubs and cashing with the Marlins against the Braves at plus $1.31. I also lost my Thursday free play on the Rangers, who were $1.70 'dogs to the Yankees. I'm putting my Friday bankroll on one play - a Triple Star: My July Total of the Month. I am 8-2 on my last 10 Triple Stars and 12-4-2 on my last 18 paid over/unders. The play can be found here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, no bad luck!
