Hard to imagine but here we are going into the final week of regular season action. Each week save the one while on vacation I have posted a free NFL release here in the forum. The season record for these releases currently stands at 10 wins and 5 losses. Last week did not prevail as the Colts came up short for us in Oakland. I am confident we are going to wrap this up with a solid winner this sunday.
This week I am suggesting laying the 5.5 points and taking the Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego against the Chargers. This would set up very nicely as a revenge spot for Rivers and company but I just cannot see it. We cashed with the Chiefs against the Broncos last week in a game sunday night they pretty much controlled. One of the things my clients know I do very much like about this Chiefs team is one of those things that typically flies under the radar and that is special teams. Dave Toub might very well be the best special teams coach in the NFL today. He has a pretty special weapon at his disposal that is no longer a secret weapon. Of course I am referring to Tyreek Hill. The kid makes other really fast NFL players look almost slow. John Dorsey, the Chiefs GM they got away from Green Bay raised a lot of eyebrows in Kansas City when he drafted Hill. He came with some history and there were some naysayers. Funny but I have not heard much from them these days. I would not be surprised if Hill capped the regular season with a big play on special teams this sunday in San Diego. The Chiefs will be playing this thing to win all the way as they still have division title hopes in play with the Raiders playing at Denver without Carr under center. They obviously hold the tie breaker over the Raiders having knocked them off in both meetings this season head to head. I don't ever hang my hat exclusively on trends but I do my due diligence and the stubborn fact is the Chiefs have been money on the road for bettors lately having cashed in on five straight road games. On the flip side of things the Chargers are a dismal 3-11 against the number on their home turf when going up against winning football teams. Word is Spencer Ware will be good to go sunday as well. Yes, maybe the Chargers will be in a foul mood after getting beaten last sunday by the Browns of all people but I am just not convinced that will be enough considering the stakes in play for the Chiefs. It's just been an unfortunate season for Mike McCoy and his club. This team is better than their record reflects in my opinion and I made some good dough early on this season picking my spots with them. But injuries really plagued this club and as much as I like and respect Rivers he made some bone headed throws this season in some pretty lousy spots. That loss to the Browns just topped their season off. I think the Chiefs win this game and cover the reasonable number for us. If San Diego can have a decent draft and keep some key guys healthy next season I truly think they can be in the mix out west. They sorely need Melvin Gordon to come back healthy AND learn how to hang onto the ball. Bottom line is I say take the Chiefs sunday with confidence guys.
I know this is a crazy time with all the bowls and the NFL playoffs looming. I love it. I can tell you I just loaded up my NFL featured release for sunday and I love the game. It is a Triple Star Rabid Dog release. I also have my one & only College Bowl Game of the Year up and loaded. I have been treading fairly lightly with the bowls compared to some but am having a solid season and have a ton of games coming up the next few days.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Get ready for a LOT of football coming down the pike. A LOT of football. Take care and best of luck to all of you. Enjoy the games!
