Already another week up and as I promised RJ at the beginning of the season each week I will be coming on here and providing a free NFL selection. Last week was a game we did not prevail in that we frankly should have with the Eagles against the Giants. But obviously all that matters if you cash the ticket or not. You can play that should have won card several times over the course of the season. At this point in the season the current record with these free selections stands at 6-3.
My regular clients know I don't tend to follow the herd very often. That's just a bad habit to fall into. This week I am once again going against the most as I am suggesting a play on the Kansas City Chiefs +3 at Carolina. These are not the 2015 Carolina Panthers guys, plain and simple. The Chiefs got by last week in Arrowhead against the Jaguars with Nick Foles under center. The game was not a thing of beauty but the KC defense continues to be rock solid and as they say, defense travels well. I saw what the underrated Rams defense did last week up against this sputtering Panthers offense and I see no valid reason that Chiefs defense cannot have success this week. Alex Smith is expected to be back under center this week and that will be a boost to the offense. The Chiefs have been a winning proposition in five of their last six games on the road against clubs posting a losing mark and believe it or not, stubborn fact remains the Panthers are indeed a club sporting a losing mark. Right now it is my view that we are getting some points with the overall better team. I look at the way this Panthers team is stuck in first gear on offense guys and now they face off against a Chiefs unit on defense that has actually allowed 14 or fewer points in three of their last four ball games. One other item that rarely gets mentioned with these games is special teams. Kansas City has had very strong special teams under the top special teams coach in the NFL with Dave Toub. Toub is the highest paid coach for ST in the league and earns every dime. In all likelihood it is only a matter of time before he gets a shot at a head coaching spot. He interviewed with the Bears before they ultimately went with the veteran coach Fox. This should be a close game guys but the bottom line is I have a tough time seeing that Panther offense generating enough against that stout Chiefs unit. I say take the points with Andy Reids Chiefs.
I have my Triple star top release going saturday in the Big 12 with my Game of the Month for that conference. Last week we cashed on the Game of the Year with South Carolina continuing the misery of the Mizzou Tigers. The fact is I have now cashed on 13 of the last 16 college football releases overall. The football featured releases have been rolling along as we have cashed the ticket in 16 of the last 19 with them. I also have my top NFL Triple Star already loaded for sunday. Also came to my understanding that Pregame has a special football weekender package loaded as well. Beats daily buying.
Anyway, it's a great time of year in both the college and pro game. I wish each of you the very best of luck with your calls this weekend. Just remember if it looks too easy, well, you know the rest. Take care.
