This morning the first thing on the table was, as to be expected around here, the fact the Cardinals won again. Once again, those of us who are Cardinals fans are not throwing in the towel on this season. All the Cards want is a ticket to the dance. They know once inside they can make some things happen. Also nice to see the Royals went into Detroit and wreaked some havoc on the Tigers. Anibal Sanchez pitched as good a game last night as he has in a long time and then of course the Tigers bull pen blew the game. Another melt down by a pen. Actually helped yours truly last night.
As kids many, if not most of us have make some knucklehead decisions. Looks like the same thing might have happened in the Olympics with the robbed at gunpoint story being told by swimmer Ryan Lochte. Good grief. Best thing that young man can do is just swallow hard and come clean with whatever the truth really is. If he does not, the hole he has dug for himself will just keep getting deeper. Good grief, I sound like a father talking. But it's the truth.
In another story it was sad to see as a Packers fan the way Darren Sharper ended up. That guy had everybody fooled. Talented and charismatic he was supposedly living the dream. NFL all pro football star for one of the marquee teams in the league. But, sadly there was another side to Sharper. The side that evidently drugged and raped not one woman, but a ungodly 16 women in four states. Then as luck would have it he had a women for his judge. Talk about karma. She put the hammer down with an 18 year sentence. I'm just glad he got busted for his actions. Sick.
Also saw where LeBron is wishing he was with the team now. I am sure that is true. But he is not getting any younger. The season in the NBA is a long marathon. He just won the whole thing. I think he made the right call in sitting this one out. He could use some time out. I think somehow the USA will manage without him. They've been pushed a couple of games but I think they are sill firmly in the drivers seat.
That was pretty much it for today. As for Sharper once more, I think the 18 years is deserved. But then again I am the father of four daughters. If anyone thinks differently I'd be interested in hearing why.
Take care guys and best of luck today with your action.
