We keep hearing about how great the NBA playoffs will be. "It's wide open in the West!", "This is the BEST fime of the year for the NBA!"
Well, it may be the best of times, but only if your team is Cleveland, San Antonio, or Golden State. All three of those teams are about 10 points better than an average NBA team right now, and they have enough separation on the field that it is difficult and very improbable that any one else stands any kind of shot (Clippers really the only dark horse with a slim chance). Cleveland COULD lose in the East to Atl (Atl HFA), but if they do, Atl will get crushed in the Finals.
The key theme: Don't get suckered into the futures markets thinking you are getting 'value" from ANYONE except the Big 3 here.
Quick notes about a CRAZY Sunday.
MLB totals go 14-0-1 OVER. THAT is just crazy. I had the Grand Salami 'under', mostly due to the vast majority of the MLB games amazingly getting bet UNDER. Oops.
NBA Faves go 9-0 SU, 9-0 ATS vs. the openers, and 7-1-1 ATS vs. Closers.
Given this, I have to feel some books got crushed with some big parlays on Sunday.
Despite my Debacle on the Grand Salami under, we still went 4-2 (and in addition won our Masters Prop bet), so a solid 5-2 day puts us over 30 units for the year, +142 since 1/1/2014.
For Monday, I have spent most of my time on the NBA card, and will be releasing on plays as soon as lines appear, but my Manic Monday package is up:
