The Big Ten has 10 teams in bowl games this season. Every one of them is an underdog. Big Ten teams are getting points whether meeting an SEC, Pac-12, ACC, or even a Conference USA opponent.
The spreads range from as low as Penn State plus 2 1/2 against Boston College to Nebraska plus 7 versus USC, Ohio State plus 9 1/2 against Alabama and Maryland plus 14 against Stanford.
Some other lines are Rutgers plus 3 against North Carolina, Minnesota plus 5 1/2 versus Missouri and Illinois plus six against Louisiana Tech.
Is this justified?
As an old Big Ten guy going back to the Woody Hayes days it pains me to see this. But the combination of expanded bowls and money completely lowers the standards allowing for mediocrities such as Penn State, Illinois, Iowa, Rutgers and Maryland to make the list.
On the handicapping front, I'm going for my 10th win in my last 12 premium plays with a Triple Star college basketball play. It can be found here. /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, no bad luck.
