Cashed again yesterday with our free winner on the Celtics and will have another in a moment. Today as I scanned the momets from the past a big name jumped off the page. One of the few players that called it quits while still a very, very capable performer. Barry Sanders. It was on this date back in 1997 that the great Sanders rushed for over 100 yards in his 12th straight game. Just think about that. And keep in mind that Sanders was not playing for a power house. One thing I remember about Sanders that goes unnoticed is that for such a small back he gained a ton of yardage after contact. He was elusive as hell but never got credit for being a tough back. I think he was tougher than given credit for. One of the best bar subjects to engage in and one that always sparks a lively debate is to ask opinions on who the greatest back of all time in the NFL is. Everyone has their opinion. For this guy, the best back I ever saw has to be Gale Sayers. Unfortunately a blow to his knee by the 49ers Kermit Alexander wrecked his knee and Sayers was never the same again. However, prior to that Sayers was amazing. And much like Sanders labored behind some very pedestrian lines. There have been many great ones and there is few wrong answers. Walter Payton was incredible, as was Sanders and Jim Brown. All hall of famers and true legit superstars. Even the infamous OJ.
Okay, a free winner for tonight. Turning to college football and suggesting a small wager on Central Florida plus the touchdown against East Carolina. Would not be surprised at the outright here.
On the business side I cashed a nice easy featured release last night with the Duke Blue Devils venturing into a very, very hostile environment in Madison and taking down Wisconsin. A major feat, the Badgers are a salty group. Both these clubs could easily be in the final four come March. Coach K has a helluva talented young club. I do have another college hoops featured release loaded up for this evening. I like this one equally as much. I also have a pair of Triple Star releases loaded up for this weekend in college and NFL. Love our chances in both. That will be it for now. My forum partcipation might be somewhat limited as I am dealing with some weird stuff. I suffered a damn tear in my retina and had the surgery monday but my sight is screwed up right now. I am not supposed to be sitting here typing but I am old school. I have work to do. If anyone here has had this experience with a tear and the eye floaters that can accompany it I would be interested in how it played out for them. The doc says these floaters may or may not go away. I cannot imagine these damn things in my vision permenently. But, we deal with what life throws us. Any feedback appreciated. Okay, I better get off this thing now. Many thanks as always and best of luck with your action guys.
