Oh brother! I felt like, as I mentioned last week, the Missouri Tigers were taking the Indiana Hoosiers too lightly. Trust me when I tell you I don't pull this stuff out of thin air. I have legitimate ways of finding out what I need to know and I will just leave it at that. You must remember they had manhandled this Indiana team last season in their house with relative ease. The Tigers entered saturdays game undefeated and on cruise control heading for a show down with South Carolina this upcoming weekend. The table was set perfect. It was parents weekend and a huge crowd was on hand to watch as the Tigers were feast on the sacrifcial lambs, the Indiana Hoosiers. But there was one critical hiitch. Indiana came to play and Mizzou didn't. Admittedly Markus Golden being out was huge but let's be real here, even without Golden in the lineup they should have prevailed saturday. Instead they were shocked at home 31-27. They got exactly what they deserved. If you don't come to play every week these are the consequences. Of course Gary Pinklel brushed off the notion his club was flat emotionally. Classic coach speak. I suppose he thinks all 66,000 fans there were blind are just don't get it. I'd have respected his response a helluva lot more had he said, hell yes, they were flat and paid the price. And I take responsibilty. As for Golden, he had injured his hammy running during the week and was not ruled out until actually saturday morning. As for this week at South Carolina he very well be on the field. But I've dealt with hamstring issues as I am sure many of you have. Will he be 100%, I say no. One final note on that Indiana debacle. How many times will you lose a game when your opponent goes 1 for 14 on third down conversions? Not many but Mizzou managed to.
So, here we are. I promised RJ I would do this every week and this week I admit I had no enthusiasm for it. Not after that and the dismal mood around the facility as they club tries to get back up off the deck. But, I am a man of my word. The pulse of the Missouri Tigers at the present moment is weak. They do have the revenge thing going for them after last year and the gut wrenching loss at home to the Game Cocks. AND, the Missouri Tigers are still a good football team. Sometimes expecations get out of whack. Clearly a tough road to go down this week and a legitimate character check for this years team. I was at the game and once again I must say the secondary has issues. They play loose, close slowly and tackle poorly. The line play is stellar but that secondary could be the death blow to this team. If it is not them then the offensive line could be the culprit. I like O Line coach AJ Ricker, good man and a sound football mind, but his guys are just not getting it done. Hard to understand for me, it's my view Ricker is the best offensive line coach Mizzou has had since Harry Hiestand from the Larry Smith era. But, the results to date are sketchy at best. Anyway, here we are. Clearly a Tiger team with a wounded ego going to Columbia South Carolina for a night game at a tough venue. Should be a lot of points in this one.
Okay, on the business side I have my one and only college triple star game of the year going this weekend. I have yet to drop a college triple yet after cashing with Alabama last week. The fact is over the past two seasons my clients and I have now cashed in on a documented 76% of the college triples. Obviously the game of the year thing wears real thin with many. And why not, particularly when there are sites that have them almost weekly, hell, daily. Not a damn thing I can do about that. My clients know I don't do that crap. There will be one college football game of the year and it's this weekend. My last college football game of the year came in the bowls and yes, it was an easy winner with Auburn in the title game against the Seminoles. Now finally, and my regular clients know the drill. This is NOT a lock. Over the past two seasons I have hit on 76% of the triples, not 100%. It does not mean to bet the house payment. My clients and I are up 20 units profit already this football season. Of course that is provided they are betting the game as I grade them and using money management. That's it for now guys. I do want to mention I will not be around the forum much this weekend. Have a daughter getting married in Palm Springs and will be a busy guy. But, as always, win or lose I will be back around to face the music. I'm never hard to find. Take care guys and best of luck.
