EARLY BIRD NFL and EARLY BIRD CFB packages are UP. I hope to have packages every Monday morning, and look to not just beat but crush the closing number(s) on select early releases!
Caveat: I've spent some limited time in Curacao being a part of arguably the best organization of the world, so here is a peak at how it is done.
Handicappers would be SHOCKED at how oddsmakers usually have no time/no clue about teams and players. They often get an email from a capper on suggested opening numbers, which the good ones use to tweak their lines (instead of copying all the line, they might copy and shade 1/2 a point based on their "expert").
From there, they couldn't care AT ALL what their expert made the game. They watch the screen like a hawk, and they move and adjust. The best books also watch their winning bettors like a hawk, and move on this. The dumbo books just try to balance action. The sharper books try to have positions, but they are typically trying to keep the positions somewhat manageable (still balancing) AND they are trying to get on the side of who their sharp bettors like (NOT their handicappers/experts).
They don't know who Utah State's Qb is. They don't know Baylor plays fast. All they know is that if Mr. 54% bets Utah State +4, (even thought it opened 6), they are moving to 3.5, AND MOVING FAST. Their capping expect may have sent them TEN -7, 6 days ago, but that information has long since been discarded. It's the latest info. that is causing them to make their final decisions on what to deal on games...........
Henry was THE BEST, hardest working guy I've ever seen. He couldn't name a player. His analysis was "WHOA, what's happening on this S ala /Kent game here??? Grande and Catalina moved and here comes more movement? AND Mr. Wonderful is betting on this one against us TOO (Even thought Mr. Wonderful might only bet $500). . GO TO -1.5 NOW DAMN IT NOW..............
Never mind, he doesn't know what State S ALA is from..........
You would think spending 15 hours with TVS on and in the games going would make you knowledgable about teams/players. You would be wrong. You spend ALL your time watching the screen, managing positions, evaluating who your bettors were betting, etc. FINALLY the HAW/wash game kicks off and MAYBE then you can kick back and realize how bad the Wash QB stinks.........
