World Series Game 3 Kansas City Royals at San Francisco Giants Start Time, Odds

Giants vs. Royals: Game 1 Score and Twitter Reaction from 2014 World Series

The San Francisco Giants welcome in the Kansas City Royals for Game 3 of the World Series tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:07 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Giants favored to take a series lead.

San Francisco did its job while in Kansas City for the opening two games of the World Series — find a way to split. The Giants were able to claim the opening game of the series with big games from both Hunter Pence and Pablo Sandoval. Prior to that Kansas City was impossible to beat, winning all eight games of the playoffs. But when it comes to October, the Giants are as close to a sure thing as their is.

Tonight the Giants send gritty veteran Tim Hudson to the bump. He's 39 and making the first World Series start of his career. While their might be some butterflies going on with Hudson, he's doing his best to hide it. Tonight he's going to give his best effort, which should come as no surprise to Giants fans. Hudson has been around the block a couple of times and still knows how to get hitters out — this year he compiled just a 9-13 record but he held a 3.57 ERA in 31 starts and almost 190 innings. He's a gamer and although the Cardinals beat him up once in the NLCS, the Giants were still able to win that game.

Jeremy Guthrie get the ball for KC tonight. Like Hudson he's a crafty veteran at the age of 35. Guthrie this season won 13 games for the Royals, but isn't a high strikeout guy but still knows how to get people out as well. The Royals won Game 3 of the ALCS behind Guthrie last week where he allowed just a single run and didn't pick up the win, but with that KC bullpen just allowing one run was good enough for the offense to eventually win the game. Guthrie is going to have to keep San Francisco off balanced tonight.

San Francisco obviously has the experience edge in this World Series, but Kansas City is playing like they've been here as well. An absolute must-win for the Royals occurred in the last game and they were able to get the job done. But now the Royals are heading out to the West Coast where the Giants are looking to earn an edge.

Hudson will be too much for the Royals, who are playing in a new park. While that might not have any barring on the game at all, the Giants are going to be comfortable in their own environment. Look for a big game from Buster Posey at the plate as the young Giants star is just 2-of-9 so far this World Series. Tonight he will bust out and lead the Giants to a win.
