Wisconsin cruised to the Big Ten Leaders’ title last year with a 6-2 conference record. While that total was matched by division rival Penn State, the Badgers thrashed the Nittany Lions 45-7 when the two squads squared off at Camp Randall Stadium in late November. Bret Bielema’s troops, which finished 11-3 overall, parlayed their regular season success into a Big Ten Championship with 42-39 win over Michigan State in the conference title game. Wisconsin lost a lot of talent over the spring, including quarterback Russell Wilson and top receiving threat Nick Toon, but Bielema has survived and even flourished through previous roster turnovers. He still returns 11 starters and 41 lettermen and he brings back arguably the nation’s best running back in Montee Ball (a second pick to win the 2012 Heisman Trophy).

Bielema’s track record (three straight double digit win seasons) has the odds makers favoring the Over 8.5 wins for Wisconsin at -260 ($260 to win $100). Only three of the Badgers 12 games are lined at this early juncture, but they are favored in home meetings with Michigan State (-5) and Ohio State (-6) while drawing underdog status at Nebraska (+3).
