Tonight the Pepperdine Waves will take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Semifinals of the West Coast Tournament, which will be played at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have the Bulldogs listed as 14.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 126. 

Analysis: The Pepperdine Waves had a solid year as they are 18-12 overall and they came into the WCC Tournament as the 4th seed. On Saturday they played a great defensive game on their way to a 50-47 win over San Diego in the Quarterfinals of the WCC Tournament. Pepperdine has been a poor offensive team this year, ranking 268th in scoring (63.8 ppg), 222nd in shooting (42.7%), 294th in 3 point shooting (31.5%) and 18th in FT shooting (75.0%). Defensively the Waves have been very good this year, ranking 47th in points allowed (60.0 ppg), 76th in defensive FG% (40.7%) and 1st in 3 point defense (25.6%).  

The Gonzaga Bulldogs have had a great year so far, but they did lose their chance at a number 1 seed when they lost at home to BYU in the last game of the Regular season. The Zags still grabbed the top seed in the WCC tournament and they did bounce back from their loss to BYU with an 81-72 win over San Francisco in the Quarters of the WCC Tournament. The Bulldogs have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 15th in scoring (78.7 ppg), 1st in shooting (52.4%), 7th in 3 point shooting (40.4%) and 133rd in FT shooting (70.1%). Defensively the Bulldogs have been very good this year, ranking 30th in points allowed (60.1 ppg), 15th in defensive FG% (38.3%) and 97th in 3 point defense (32.6%).

Pick: I will be going with the Under in this game. The Zags are a very good scoring team and like to play the up tempo game, but hey have also slowed it down at times this year when taking on an grind it out opponent. In the first meeting the teams put up 154 points in an up tempo game, but the 2nd meeting was a much slower game and only saw 104 points scored. That is the pace that Pepperdine will play at on offenses as it is their only shot at winning or at least keeping the game close. In their last 7 games the most points scored in a Pepperdine game was 122 points, with those games averaging just 112.4 ppg. Both teams are playing good defense right now as the Waves have allowed just 52.6 ppg in their last 5 games, while the Zags have allowed just 63.6 ppg in their last 5. The Zags can score, but the Waves cannot as they have averaged 54.7 ppg in their last 7 games. I say this one just squeaks above 120 points.
