Wednesday Baseball Betting Odds Milwaukee Brewers vs St Louis Cardinals Free Pick

Major League Baseball on Wednesday afternoon and I will have a Free Pick in the game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the St Louis Cardinals, which will be played at Busch Stadium in St Louis. First pitch is scheduled for a 1:45 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on the locally.

Betting Odds

Brewers                 +140
Cardinals                -150

Over/ Under: 7 0 -120

This is game 3 of a 3 game series between these National League Central foes. The Brewers took game 1 by a score of 1-0 and then the Cards reciprocated with a 1-0 win last night. Pitching has really dominated this series so far. The Cards have the Best record in baseball at 34-18, while the Brewers have the worst record at 18-35. The Brewers rank 28th in scoring (3.66 rpg), while on the mound they are 28th in ERA (4.47). St Louis ranks 20th in scoring (4.04 rpg), while on the mound they are 1st in ERA (2.64).

Trend for this game include: Milwaukee has gone 10-21 in their last 31 games as a road underdog, 9-24 in their last 33 road games vs. a right-handed starter and 3-12 in Nelson's last 15 starts. The Cards have gone 41-12 in their last 53 home games with the total set at 7.0-8.5, 59-21 in their last 80 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 10-1 in Lackey's last 11 starts as a home favorite.

Getting the ball for Milwaukee today will be Jimmy Nelson, who is 2-5 with a 3.90 ERA in 10 starts this year, while on the road he has gone 1-3 with a 4.55 ERA in 5 starts. Nelson has gone 0-3 with a 10.24 ERA in 3 games (2 starts) in his career vs the Cardinals.

Taking the hill for St Louis today will be John Lackey, who is 3-3 with solid 2.83 ERA in 10 starts overall while at home he has gone 3-1 with a skinny 1.30 ERA in 5 starts so far. John has faced the Brewers 4 times in his career and he is 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA in those starts.

Pick: Jimmy Nelson hasn't fared that well on the road this year (1-3, 4.55 ERA) or vs the Cards in his career 0-3 with a 10.24 ERA in 3 games, 2 starts) and I don't see him faring much better in the one. The Cards have been an amazing team at home and have won 10 of Lackey's last 11 starts here. This year John is 3-1 with a 1.30 ERA at home. The Brewers haven't figured out St Louis pitching at all in this series and I dn't expect that to change vs Lackey, plus we not that the Brewers have not been a good road team at all this year and they have a rough run going vs right handed starters. Too much for the Brewers to overcome here.

MovieFree MLB Betting Pick: Oakland As at Detroit Tigers
Yes, the Oakland A's started out the 2015 MLB season terribly, but pro bettor Teddy Covers thinks the As are starting to turn things around, especially when Sonny Gray is on the mound. Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers batting line-up is struggling to hit the ball, rarely scoring more than three runs. With that in mind, Teddy likes the As in this match up.
