The New York Giants and Washington Redskins will close out their disappointing campaigns this Sunday when they clash at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The game between the two longtime rivals is scheduled to get underway at 1:00pm ET on FOX. The latest Week 17 NFL Point Spreads are favoring the Giants at -4 against the spread; the Over/Under is set at 46.5 points.

The Giants had absolutely nothing to play for last weekend in Detroit, but they displayed plenty of heart in defeating a Lions team that needed a win in order to stay in the playoff chase. New York rallied from seven down in the final quarter to send the game into overtime, and Josh Brown secured a 23-20 victory in the extra frame with a 45 yard field goal.

The win was the fourth for the Giants in their last seven games and it brought their record to 6-9 for the season.

If New York was able to produce that kind of effort in a meaningless game against a non-division opponent, it should have plenty of juice for the hated Redskins.

Washington has shown a little something in its last two games, though. The Redskins have lost seven straight games, but since being embarrassed 45-10 by the Chiefs and making the switch to Kirk Cousins at quarterback, they have been competitive.

Following the KC debacle, the Redskins lost 26-27 to the Falcons in Atlanta, and they somehow managed to keep the score that close in spite of seven turnovers. Cousins threw for 381 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

Last weekend Washington pushed a desperate Cowboys team to the brink before falling 23-24 at FedEX Field. The Redskins offense was not as dynamic as it was in the Falcons game, but their much maligned defense limited Dallas to 309 total yards.

The recent history in this rivalry series in New York points toward a tightly contested, low scoring battle on Sunday. The Giants have won four of the last five meetings between the two teams in East Rutherford, but the Redskins have covered the number in three of the last four there. The Under was also 4-1 in those same five games.

Notable Trends: The Giants are 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games as a home favorite with a total between 44.5 and 47 points.
