Washington Nationals at Los Angeles Dodgers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Los Angeles Dodgers welcome in the Washington Nationals tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for an 10:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live in both markets. Currently the odds for the game have the Dodgers favored to pick up the victory in this matchup at home.

Los Angeles holds a 2.5-game lead over the San Francisco Giants in the National League West, a nice lead they are hoping to build on. The Nationals come in as a second-place team in the East and have lost six of their last 10 games overall. Washington picked up a win in the opening game of this series last night, getting a solid performance from Gio Gonzalez, who threw eight innings and struck out six Dodgers.

Washington hit the ball well against Brett Anderson, collecting seven earned runs in five innings on 10 hits. Ian Desmond hit a pair of home runs in the game as well, a nice game for him at the plate. The Nationals have been inconsistent for some time now and facing off against the Dodgers will make for a tough way to get it going. Los Angeles has been pretty solid at home this year with 37 victories, the Nationals have not been great away from their own park, but picking up a win last night on the road was important.

The Dodgers will give the baseball to Zack Greinke, who has looked like the best pitcher in baseball at times this season. Greinke is 11-2 with a 1.71 ERA in 22 starts. Greinke has compiled a nice record of 5-1 while holding opponents to a .182 average in those starts and he's shown no sign of being anything but dominant. In his only start against the Nationals this season, Greinke tossed a gem with eight shutout innings and 11 strikeouts to tame Washington. He'll be looking to complete another solid start tonight. For the record, current Nationals are hitting .206 against Greinke in 126 at bats, Anthony Rendon has homered.

The Nationals will be throwing Joe Ross. The youngster has a record of 3-3 this season, a 2.80 ERA and has never faced a single player on the Dodgers. Ross has made seven starts so far this year and thrown a combined 45 innings, holding opponents to an average of just .222 in that time. Ross has made three starts on the road for Washington, going 1-1 in those games.

With the Nationals struggles on the road and LA throwing another rock solid ace, the Dodgers look primed to pick up a win in this one.

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
