The Auburn Tigers will play the Virginia Cavaliers in the first game of the Final Four for the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 6:09 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The Final Four Odds for the game have the Cavaliers favored to pick up the win in this one.
Final Four Odds
Virginia -6
Total: 131 points
Virginia finally got over the hump with Tony Bennett, reaching the Final Four for the first time since 1984. This year’s team has been in the conversation as the best in the country most of the season and now they are the only Number 1 seed to reach this year’s Final Four. Their reward? Playing the hot-shooting Auburn Tigers, who are scoring better than 85 points per game during the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers are averaging better than 12 3-pointers made in this year’s run, including knocking down 17 against North Carolina as they blew out the Tar Heels. Auburn has knocked off Kansas, UNC and Kentucky on its run to the Final Four, racing through Blue Blood programs with their run and gun style.
Virginia obviously wants to play their style of defense, shutting down the 3-point barrage from Auburn. Virginia is allowing less than 58 points per game to opponents this tournament, including the 75 Purdue put up in the Elite 8 game. If their grinding style on the defensive end can slow the Tigers down, Virginia can win this game and play for all the marbles on Monday.
