US Open Odds

The US Open Odds still has Tiger Woods favored to run away with the tournament. However, there are still several great players left in the tournament. Historically, whenever Woods is in contention after the first two days of the tournament, he is nearly always made the favorite to win the tournament based on the amount of bets that will and are placed on him. Currently the US Open Odds for Tiger Woods are EVEN (Risk $100 to win back $100).

Additional US Open Odds for the remainder of the tournament include Jim Furyk at 5/1, Davis Toms 10/1, Graeme McDowell 15/1, the field 15/1, Nicolas Colsaerts 25/1, Matt Kuchar 25/1, Jason Dufner 30/1, Charl Schwartzel 30/1, Lee Westwood 30/1, Hunter Machus 30/1, KJ Choi 40/1, Fredrik Jacobson 40/1, Justin Rose 50/1, Sergio Garcia 50/1, Steve Stricker 60/1, Blake Adams 60/1, Michael Thompson 60/1, Padraig Harrington 60/1, Ernie Els 80/1, Nick Watney 80/1, John Peterson 100/1 and Phil Mickelson 100/1.

Woods shot an even par 70 on Friday in the second day of the tournament. His 1-under par 69 on the opening day had him tied for second place. Yet, after another day of golf at the US Open on Friday, Woods remains in the hunt despite shooting just even par. The USGA has done a great job of keeping the course playing tough but yet still allowing for certain holes to be scored on. Both Toms and Furyk are going to put up a fight the rest of the way so Woods will have to continue to play within himself and stay focused. Shooting par in each of his last two rounds might not be enough to earn the victory, meaning Woods will have to avoid the bogey streaks like the 3-hole stretch he had on Friday afternoon.

Tiger is the odds-on favorite to win the tournament currently at EVEN odds. The odds mean he is the only player in the remaining field that is less than 1/1 odds if he actually wins. Wood's finish position prior to the tournament starting was set at over/under of 11.5th place in Las Vegas, which indicated he had a better than 86 percent chance to make the cut. That obviously has happened.

Music Betting Dork: Lee Phelps, Host, The Punt, William Hill Football Podcast, on Euro 2012 & the 112th U.S. Open:
This one is fun.  Skyping across the pond with Euro 2012 in full swing, Host Gill Alexander welcomes William Hill Football Podcast Host Lee Phelps to discuss an array of mutual curiosities, including why the British have such low expectations of England's prospects on the international football stage, and the many differences in the gambling cultures of England and the United States.  Plus, in a week dominated by both Euro 2012 and U.S. Open Golf, where might the betting value currently lie in both events?  Lee offers up his thoughts on both, including which nations might still be the most intriguing futures plays in the former, and which two European golfers ought to be on your radar on the latter.  Plus, Premier League value and boxing thoughts, as well, on Monday's international Betting Dork (June 11, 2012).
