The UFC returns to FX tonight with a 12 fight card at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida (start time 9:00pm EST). This evening’s main event is a flyweight title eliminator fight between Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall and Demetrious Johnson. UFC on FX Johnson vs. McCall Fight Predictions and Odds have Johnson listed as 4-6 favorite ($150 to win $100) to secure a spot opposite Joseph Benavidez in a battle to become the UFC’s first ever flyweight champion. Tonight’s main card also features fights between Erick Silva (61-100) and Charlie Brenneman, Mike Pyle (27-50) and Josh Neer, and Scott Jorgensen (2-5) and Eddie Wineland.
Ian McCall and Demetrious Johnson ought to be familiar with one another, the two fought to a draw in early March at UFC on FX 2, forcing this evening’s rematch. Many thought McCall won the fight with an aggressive finish to the third round, but the judges saw it differently.
Prior to his first meeting with Johnson, McCall reeled off four straight wins to bring his professional record to an impressive 11-2. McCall was 0-2 in his last two WEC fights, though; losing to Charlie Valencia (submission) and current UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (unanimous decision).
Johnson fell to Cruz via unanimous decision (UFC Live 6 – October 2011) before meeting McCall in March, but that setback marked just his second loss in 16 professional fights and his first in three appearances inside the Octagon. Johnson won his first two UFC scraps, defeating Norifumi Yamamoto and Miguel Torres by unanimous decision.
