UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II Fight Predictions, Odds and Start Time

The UFC lightweight title is on the line tonight as current champion Benson Henderson defends his belt against the man he took it from, Frankie “The Answer” Edgar. The two fighters are slated to headline UFC 150, a live Pay-Per-View event from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado (10:00pm ET start time). Henderson vs. Edgar II Fight Predictions and Odds at have Henderson listed as a -200 moneyline favorite ($200 to win $100) to retain his strap. Edgar is drawing +160 odds to regain the title and earn his 10th UFC victory.

Frankie Edgar suffered just the second loss of his illustrious career in February when he fell to former WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. Edgar, a favorite going into the fight, felt he did enough to score a victory in the lively five round battle, but the judges saw it differently, awarding Henderson a unanimous decision win.

The statistics would prove the judges correct as Henderson landed 100 of his 277 strike attempts while Edgar hit on 81 of his 204. Henderson, who scored fewer takedowns than Edgar (one to five), also landed 87 significant strikes to Edgar’s 68 and he had three submission attempts to Edgar’s zero.

Tonight’s scrap should be hard fought and entertaining as well. Edgar, who owns a 14-2-1 professional record, is extremely talented both on his feet and on the ground, and his toughness is equal to any fighter who has every stepped foot in the Octagon. Henderson (16-2) is a similarly well-rounded fighter with a resume that includes wins over some of the top lightweights in the business, including Shane Roller, Donald Cerrone, Mark Bocek, Jim Miller, and Clay Guida.

UFC 150 Fight Prediction: While Henderson outpointed Edgar in their last bout, he did not dominate the former champ. Edgar will bring, perhaps, more heat tonight given his contention that he was robbed in the first meeting. Henderson is the favorite here, but this fight could go either way and Edgar has proven, more so than any fighter I’ve seen, an ability to absorb punishment and bounce back for a win. For that reason, I’m picking the New Jersey product, at +160 odds ($100 to win $160), to regain the lightweight strap.

UFC 150:  Henderson vs. Edgar II Odds:

Benson Henderson (-200) vs. Frankie Edgar (+160)
