UCF vs Baylor 2014 Fiesta Bowl Odds

The sixth ranked Baylor Bears, who are taking part in their first BCS contest, will face No. 15 UCF on Wednesday, January 1st in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. The New Year's Day showdown between the Bears and Knights is scheduled to kickoff at 8:30pm ET on ESPN. The latest 2014 Fiesta Bowl Odds from 5Dimes have Baylor listed as a -16 against the spread and -700 money line favorite ($700 wins $100). The Over/Under in the BCS clash is set at 68 points.

UCF may not be a household college football brand, but George O'Leary's Knights are really good. Central Florida posted a perfect 8-0 record against its league brethren to win the American Athletic Conference and its only loss came at the hands of No. 9 South Carolina.

The Knights scored impressive wins over quality teams in Penn State, Louisville, and Houston, and they nearly upended Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks in the aforementioned 25-28 loss at BH Networks Stadium in Orlando.

However, despite its 11-1 record, UCF is getting double digits from Art Briles' Baylor Bears. So what gives?

Well, the Knights have not seen anything like the offense Baylor will trot out on New Year's night. And, frankly, UCF had some ugly wins over some less than stellar competition.

Three of the Knights last four victories came by a combined 10 points and against a trio (Temple, South Florida, SMU) that were a collective 9-27 on the season.

The Bears did not have the most impressive finish to their season either, though. Baylor got drilled 17-49 at Oklahoma State and it barely snapped out of its 'first loss funk' the following weekend in beating TCU 41-38.

The Bears regular season finale did look more like what fans of the program had come to expect as they defeated Texas 30-10 to win the Big 12 title. Baylor posted 29 first downs and 508 total yards in the win while limiting the Longhorns to 12 first downs and 217 yards.

Notable Trends: UCF is 1-9 straight up but 8-2 against the spread in its last 10 games as an underdog with a spread between 14 and 17.5 points.

UCF vs Baylor 2014 Fiesta Bowl Odds:

No. 15 Central Florida Knights +16 (-110), Over 68 (-110), +500 (Moneyline)

No. 6 Baylor Bears -16 (-110), Over 68 (-110), -700 (Moneyline)
