College Football Betting Odds Ohio Bobcats vs Miami Redhawks Free Pick

Tuesday night college football and the Ohio Bobcats will travel to Fred Yager Stadium to take on the Miami- Ohio Redhawks. The game has a start time of 7:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2. Current Vegas odds have the Bobcats listed as 3 point favorites, while the total is set at 49.

Analysis: The Ohio Bobcats need this game to get to bowl eligibility even though it probably won't translate into a bowl invite. For the year the Bobcats are 5-6 overall, 1-4 on the road and 3-4 in the MAC. The Bobcats are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a bye week, but also 7-16 ATS in their last 23 conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games. Ohio has not been a good offensive team, ranking 89th in total offense, 85th in passing, 67th in rushing and 116th in scoring (20.2 ppg). The defense has been average at best, ranking 72nd in yards allowed, 108th vs the pass, 30th vs the run and 59th in points allowed (25.2 ppg).

The Miami Redhawks have had another rough year as they come in at 2-9 overall, with their 2 wins come vs UMass and Kent State, who are a combined 4-17 on the year.  Miami is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games, but also are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Miami is also not a very good offensive team, ranking 83rd in total yards, 21st in passing, 120th in rushing and 104th in scoring (22.5 ppg). The defense has not been good either for this team, as they come in ranked 100th in yards allowed, 91st vs the pass, 100th vs the run and 102nd in points allowed (32.5 ppg).

Pick: With these two offenses its hard to look anywhere but the Under, although I do like the Bobcats here as well. The Bobcats may not make it to a bowl game, but getting to bowl eligible is big for all schools, plus while the offenses are equally bad, there is a big defensive edge that goes to the Bobcats. I feel the Bobcats will play the much better game in this one and be a bit more fired up than a Miami team that is looking to next year. Miami is 3-9-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games, while the Bobcats are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. 23-14 bobcats sounds about right.
