Top 25 College Football Wisconsin Badgers vs Alabama Crimson Tide Start Time, Odds

A battle of Top 25 teams in college football action takes place tonight when the No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers play the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the college football odds for the game have the Crimson Tide favored by double digits in this neutral site contest.

Alabama is once again ranked preseason Top 5 nationally. Nick Saban's team has a lot of turnover this year and they bring only two starters back on offense this year. The defense, of course, will be lights out once again with seven returning starters. Wisconsin should be no slouch, either. The Badgers come in with a new head coach in Paul Chryst and a renewed attitude to stick to running the football and playing tough defense.

Quarterback Joel Stave didn't have a great year in 2014 for Wisconsin. He has to play better if the Badgers are going to hang around in this one. The Badgers can look to run the football all they want but the Crimson Tide front line will be ready. Corey Clement is the next Wisconsin back in line and he's a speedy junior that also has some size.

This game is being played on a neutral site, like several key games this weekend. Both teams are high profile and love running the football, so it has the feel of a slugfest. The key could be Wisconsin's offensive line play against the Alabama defensive front. The Badgers will be young at a couple of positions on that offensive line, if Alabama is able to take advantage in those situations they will make it tough.

Alabama looks like they're going to go with Jacob Coker as the starting quarterback. He's a Florida State transfer that wasn't able to win the job last year but has another year of experience in the system. He'll be handing the ball off to Derrick Henry quite a bit in this one. Henry, a big back that is the workhorse for the Crimson Tide, will look to have a big game on the ground. Alabama wants to win the battle of physicality and this game tonight should be a physical one.

With both teams running a lot and this being a slower-paced game, there won't be many points scored.

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
