Toledo vs Missouri College Football Point Spreads Week 2

The Toledo Rockets will face an SEC school for a second consecutive weekend as they travel to Columbia, Missouri to take on Gary Pinkel's Tigers. Saturday's meeting between the Rockets and Tigers is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30pm ET on ESPNU. College Football Point Spreads Week 2 have Mizzou listed as a -17.5 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 66.5 points. Toledo is drawing +650 money line odds ($100 wins $650) while the Tigers are -1000 straight up pick ($1000 wins $100).

Missouri faced less than stellar competition in its season opener, but it did what FBS teams are supposed to do to FCS schools. The Tigers smashed the Murray State Racers 58-14 at Faurot Field after racking up 33 first downs and 694 yards of offense.

Mizzou rushed for an astounding 358 yards on 45 attempts and the bulk of that came from junior Henry Josey, who tallied 113 yards on 13 touches. Josey had not played since suffering a devastating knee injury (PCL, ACL, MCL) in a November 2011 win over Texas.

Quarterback James Franklin experienced a return to 2011 form as well, throwing for 318 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 44 yards on six carries.

Toledo did not fare as well in its season opener; however, it drew a far more difficult assignment than Mizzou. The Rockets traveled to Gainesville to face the 10th ranked Florida Gators, and while they covered the number (23.5), they were no where near winning the game.

Toledo's offense, which averaged over 31 points and 445 yards per game a season ago, posted just 12 first downs (1-for-13 on third down) and 205 total yards against the Gators stout defense.

The Rockets defense, despite yielding 262 rush yards, acquitted itself well in the 24-6 loss considering it spent just under 40 minutes on the field.

Toledo will likely face a reverse problem on Saturday against the Tigers. Missouri's defense is respectable, but it is not as good as Florida's crew. Consequently, the Rockets should find some offensive success in Columbia; however, their defense may not.

Missouri's offense presents far more problems than the Gators' with more playmakers in the backfield (Franklin, Josey, Russell Hansborough) and on the edges (Dorial Green-Beckham, Marcus Lucas, L'Damian Washington).

Suffice it to say the final score in this contest will more closely resemble the Murray State/Mizzou game rather than the Toledo/Florida contest.

Toledo vs Missouri College Football Point Spreads Week 2:

Toledo Rockets +17.5 (-110), Over 66.5 (-110), +650 (Moneyline)

Missouri Tigers -17.5 (-110), Under 66.5 (-110), -1000 (Moneyline)
