The San Diego Chargers are playing host to the Denver Broncos tonight on Thursday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The NFL Odds for the game have the Broncos favored by a field goal on the road.
Total: 45 points
San Diego has been another big question mark this season. Sure, they’ve had a number of guys go down with injuries on the season, but the Bolts are still putting up a ton of points and can’t seem to get wins. The Chargers sit at plus-10 on the season in scoring differential, yet they post a 1-4 record as second-half collapses have marred their season.
Phillip Rivers is doing all he can to lead the team to victory, he’s thrown 11 touchdowns and has a quarterback rating of 72.8 through the team’s first five games, which ranks sixth among NFL starters this season.
The Denver defense has been great, but last week they weren’t able to get another turnover against a tough Atlanta offense that did what it needed to.
Denver won’t have coach Gary Kubiak for this one as he deals with some severe migraine issues, interim coach Joe DeCamillis gets the call here. It looks like Trevor Siemian will get the start here tonight as well as the Broncos look for some consistency at the quarterback position. Denver has excellent weapons around the field but without stability at QB they won’t be any good.
It’s about time the Chargers won a game like this, playing at home should help.
