The West Virginia Mountaineers are hosting the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 college football action Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ABC or ESPN2 depending on regional coverage. The college football odds for the game have the Mountaineers favored to pick up the win at home.
College Football Odds
West Virginia -6
Total: 65 points
This could be a good game. TCU has the ability to put up some points, as does West Virginia. The key could be which team gets a stop early in the game to shift momentum or a stop early in the third quarter that keeps the other team from building something to start that second half.
The Mountaineers are 5-0 on the season and ranked 12th in the Associated Press poll, rising up eight spots over last week’s placement. They can score points and have shown they can win tough games, picking up a pair of close victories against BYU and Kansas State.
Skylar Howard is throwing for an average of 318 yards per game and he’s got a group of four receivers that can all make big catches. Howard has only eight touchdown passes though, but with the TCU defense that isn’t nearly as good as it’s been in the past.
The Frogs are giving up 30 points a game and nearly lost last time out to Kansas. Call it lack of focus, but that is a bit alarming. Kenny Hill has proven he can still play with 19 combined TDs this season, but he’s thrown eight picks as well.
The Mountaineer defense will be the difference.
