This game would have been a whole lot better had Tom Brady been allowed to play. Without him the Patriots will have to go with Jimmy Garoppolo, who will start the opening four games of the season. Facing Arizona’s defense would have been tough enough for Brady, Garoppolo will be in for a world of trouble with the strong Cardinals defense.
Both teams have gone 5-1 the last six openers, but Arizona should have an edge here after going to the NFC Championship game last season and returning almost everyone on the offensive side of the field.
Carson Palmer is looking to get past last year’s conference title game where he turned it over nearly every possession. Arizona is a strong team that should once again make double-digit wins and with the absence of Brady, Arizona is in a good spot to pick up a win here.
