Sunday NFL Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets: Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

NFL Week 6 continues on Sunday and we will see the Indianapolis Colts travel to the East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the New York Jets. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM (Eastern) start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have New York favored by 3.5 points, while the total sits at 44. Currently 52% of the Public is on New York, while 65% is on the Over. Find out what side the Public is taking on all the games by clicking HERE.

Free Analysis: Winners just twice in a lost season without an injured Peyton Manning in 2011, the Colts equaled that total last week with an emotional 30-27 defeat of the Green Bay Packers that came just six days after head coach Chuck Pagano went public with a leukemia diagnosis. Rookie QB Andrew Luck made plays on Sunday against a talented Packers defense that made him look like a seven-year veteran. Luck led the Colts back from an 18-point deficit at halftime to 27 second-half points. He finished the game with 362 yards passing on 31 of 55 completions for two touchdowns. Luck added another TD rushing on 6 carries for 24 yards. Andrew Luck now has 1208 yards passing on the season with a 54.2 completion percentage, 7 TD passes, and is third in the NFL averaging 302 yards passing a game. WR Reggie Wayne stepped up big in the Colts win on Sunday grabbing 13 receptions for 212 yards and one touchdown. Wayne now leads the league in receiving yards-per-game with 126.5. On defense the Colts are still led by veterans Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney coming off of the edges.  In the second half of their win over Green Bay the defense stepped up and held the Packers high-powered offense to just 6 points after 21 in the first half. For the season, outside linebacker Mathis has 5 sacks to lead the team while Freeney has just one. Heading into week six the Colts defense is allowing 361 yards of total offense a game to opponents.

While New York Jets fans have begun clamoring for Tebow Time to begin, head coach Rex Ryan says Mark Sanchez is still his starting quarterback - at least for now. Sanchez faces one of the most pivotal games of his career Sunday as he leads the stumbling Jets into a home date with the Indianapolis Colts. Jets QB Mark Sanchez appears to be getting closer and closer to becoming second-fiddle to the Tebow show. Sanchez has a 48.4 completion percentage, 6 TD's to 6 INT's, and has a rating of 66.6. The Jets offense is miserable and ranks 28th in the league averaging 284.4 total yards-per-game. It seems like the only time the team seems motivated, or the only time the fans start cheering like New Yorkers is when Tim Tebow steps on the field. The most publicized back-up QB in the history of the NFL is averaging a team-high 4.1 yards-per-attempt on his carries and has the longest run out of the backfield thus far for the Jets with a 22-yard scamper.  Starting RB Shonn Greene looks nothing like the back who helped the Jets ground and pound to the AFC Title game his rookie season. Greene is averaging a measly 2.9 yards-per-attempt with 76 carries for 217 yards on the season. For head coach Rex Ryan, his biggest disappointment may be his defense, especially vs the run as they come in allowing 170 ypg on the ground. The team-leader in sacks is a linebacker who the coaching staff doesn’t even know. His name is Garrett McIntyre and he has two sacks.

Free Pick: I Like the Jets in this one. Last week the Colts played a very emotional game for coach Pagano, who has been diagnosed with Leukemia and now they must travel to take on a Jets squad that is playing their 3rd home game in a row. The Colts came back from 21-3 down to win last weeks game and they used allot of emotion and energy in that game and may just not be ready for this game. They are a young team and it is hard for young team to get up after such an emotional game the week before. The Jets are a team that looked much better on Monday night then they had and Sanchez performed well under the pressure he was on.  The Jet defense also played well in the game and should be able to slow down Luck and the Colt offense in this one. New York needs this one bad and will not lose 3 home games in a row. I look for them to get a big win over this emotionally drained Colts squad.
