Sunday baseball and I will have a free pick in the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets, which will be played at Citi Field in New York. First pitch is scheduled for a 1:10 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.
Over/ Under: 6 U -120
Wow the Mets really unloaded on the Dodgers yesterday as they pounded out 21 hits on their way to a 15-2 win. Those are not numbers we are used to seeing from the worst offensive team in the league. Hard to think that they can duplicate that vs Greinke tonight. The Mats are still just 3 games behind the Nats in the East, while the Dodgers have seen their lead in the West shrink to just 2 games over the Giants. The Dodgers rank 15th in scoring (4.17 rpg), while on the mound they are 3rd in ERA (3.24). The Mets rank 27th in scoring (3.53 rpg), while on the mound they are 4th in ERA (3.29).
Trends for this game include: The Dodgers are 11-3 in their last 14 during game 4 of a series and 9-2 in Greinke's last 11 starts vs. a team with a winning record, while the Mets are 45-21 in their last 66 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, but just 22-54 in their last 76 games as a home underdog of +110 to +150.
Getting the ball for the Dodgers today will be Zack Greinke, missed a couple of days due to the birth of his child. Zack comes in on a 42.33 innings scoreless streak, so it will be interesting to see if the extra time off will disrupt his timing. Zach has gone 9-2 with a 1.30 ERA overall this year, while on the road he is 5-1 with a 1.10 ERA. Zach is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 5 career starts vs the Mets.
Taking the hill for the Mets today will be Jacob deGrom, who is 10-6 with a 2.18 ERA in 18 starts this year overall, while at home he has gone 5-2 with a 1.67 ERA in 9 starts. deGrom is 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in 2 career starts vs the Dodgers.
Pick: I will be going with the Dodgers in this one. Not only do they have Greinke on the mound, but they will be playing with revenge after getting embarrassed by New York last night. That pathetic NY offense put up 15 runs last night, but they won't even come close to that today and the way that Greinke has been pitching they could very well get shutout. Greinke hasn't allowed an ER in 42.33 straight innings and he has a 1.10 ERA on the road, plus an 0.75 ERA in 2 career starts in this park. Jacob deGrom has been tough this year, but he is 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in 2 career starts vs the Dodgers. I see LA getting just enough runs to take this one and this is also a game you may want to look at the Under as well.

NCAA Football Betting Pick: Utah vs. Arizona State
The Arizona State Sun Devils are coming to Utah for a Pac-12 college football match up in October and pro bettors Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik think the timing, the altitude, and the competition will be just too much for ASU. The Utes' stadium is a high-altitude venue, and the Sun Devils are going to be in the stretch of a rough run of games including match ups with conference heavyweights USC and Oregon. With this away game sandwiched between these tough games and no bye week to help them rest and recover, the thought is Utah will be the team to bet.
