Summit League Finals North Dakota State Bison vs South Dakota State Jackrabbits Free Pick, Odds

Tonight the South Dakota State Jackrabbits will take on the North Dakota State Bison in the Finals of the Summit League, which will take place at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2. Current Vegas betting odds have the Jackrabbits listed as 5.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 127.

Analysis:  The South Dakota State Jackrabbits finished the regular season at 21-9 overall and finished in a tie in the Summit League with North Dakota State at 12-4. The Jackrabbits are now 23-9 on the year after a 37 point win over Western Illinois in the Quarterfinals and then last night they beat South Dakota by 13 to end up in the finals of the Summit League Tournament. SDSU has gone 17-4 ATS in their last 21 games overall and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Jackrabbits have been a very good offensive team this year as they come in ranked 44th in scoring (73.5 ppg), 69th in shooting (45.9%), 47th in 3 point shooting (38.2%) and 118th in FT shooting (70.6%). Defensively the Jackrabbits have been decent, ranking 114th in points allowed (64.1 ppg), 69th in defensive FG% (40.5%) and 120th in 3 point defense (33.1%).

The North Dakota State Bison finished the regular season on a 14-4 run. They finished 12-4 in the Summit league and that was good enough for a tie atop the league standing with the Jackrabbits. NDSU is the second seed in this tournament and got to the finals by beating Denver and Oral Roberts. The Bison have gone 14-5 ATS in their last 19 neutral site games, but just 9-19 ATS in their last 28 games following a ATS win. NDSU has not been a good offensive team this year, ranking 238th in scoring (64.9 ppg), 205th in shooting (43.0%), 41st in 3 point shooting (38.3%) and 146th in FT shooting (69.8%). The defense for this team has been solid as they come in ranked 62nd in points allowed (62.0 ppg), 135th in defensive FG% (42.3%) and 323rd in 3 point defense (37.8%).

Pick: Yes I will be going with the Under here. Both teams have been playing solid defense of late and really just SDSU has a shot at 64 points in this one as the Bison are not a strong offensive team right now, averaging just 60.2 ppg in their last 5 games and they have averaged just 62.7 ppg in their 6 neutral site games. Hard to expect that offense to get going vs a SDSU defense that has allowed just 64.8 ppg in their last 5 games and just 61.4 ppg in their 5 neutral site games. The Bison have been one of the better defensive teams in the league all year and come in allowing just 58.5 ppg (Regulation) in their last 8 games, while on neutral courts they have allowed just 55 ppg. Both teams are hot defensively and just one team can score. This one may not hit 120 points.
