The Boston Bruins are favored tonight over the Detroit Red Wings for Game 4 of their First Round NHL Playoffs series. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the odds for the game have the the Bruins favored to take a commanding series lead.

Detroit can even the series tonight with a victory in Game 4. The Red Wings were able to sneak away with a 1-0 win in the opening game of this series, but have dropped two games in a row. They are still playing without their captain Henrik Zetterberg, but he's expected to be a game-time decision tonight, according to head coach Mike Babcock.

The Red Wings just aren't scoring goals, that's why they are down 2-1 in this series. They have just two goals in the three games total and obviously need to get more than that if they are able to win this game tonight and any games in the future. Detroit has been just awful offensively. By scoring just two goals through the opening three games, the Red Wings are off to the team's worst three-game start in any NHL playoff series since getting shut out in the first three games of the 1945 Stanley Cup finals.

Boston has killed off every penalty so far in the three games, not allowing the Red Wings to get any traction. Tuukka Rask has also helped keep Detroit off the scoreboard, making save after save as the Red Wings have averaged better than 27 shots per game. Boston hasn't scored a ton of goals, either, with seven tallies in three games, but it's been enough to get the job done to lead the series by a game. Yet, Detroit isn't going to panic just yet.

The Bruins are full of veteran players and are built to be a physical, defensive team. Patrice Bergeron leads them in points with three so far this post season and will be looking to put the Red Wings in a very tough spot after tonight's game. 

It's not as if Jimmy Howard has played terribly for the Red Wings, either. The Detroit netminder is stopping better than 93 percent of the shots he has faced but has the tough task of having to outplay Rask in between the pipes. Simply put, Pavel Datsyuk, Gustav Nyquist and the Red Wings are going to have to light the lamp tonight. Detroit wasn't an extremely good team at home this season, which is atypical, but tonight they're going to have to find a way to win.

We like the Red Wings to speed this game up tonight with their youngsters. Detroit needs to get a win or they're going to be looking at an early offseason.
