Stanford vs Army NCAA College Football Odds

No. 5 Stanford takes to the road for the first time this season as it is scheduled to square off against the Army Black Knights on Saturday at Michie Stadium in West Point, New York. Kickoff in the non-conference clash is set for 12:00pm ET; the game will be broadcast live on the CBS Sports Network. The latest NCAA College Football Odds from 5Dimes have Stanford listed as a -29.5 against the spread and -7500 money line ($7500 wins $100) favorite. This weekend's game total is set at 51 points.

Stanford sat on the sidelines during college football's kickoff weekend, instead opening its 2013 slate last Saturday with a home meeting against the San Jose State Spartans.

The Cardinal, which struggled in its 2012 opener opposite the Spartans, scored an easy 34-13 win, but still failed to cover the 24.5 point spread.

Offensively Stanford posted 25 first downs, converted 12 of its 15 third down opportunities, and tallied 404 total yards. Sophomore quarterback Kevin Hogan completed 17-of-27 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns while senior Tyler Gaffney, who left the team last season to play baseball, rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.

The Cardinal defense picked up where it left off last season (17.2 points and 336 yards per game allowed), limiting San Jose State to 251 yards on 67 plays (3.7 ypp). The Spartans found it especially difficult to run the ball against Stanford as they managed all of 35 yards on 23 rush attempts.

Army, which is coming off a 2-10 season, won its season opener over FCS school Morgan State, but got a reality check last weekend against a quality Ball State squad. The Cardinals routed the Black Knights 40-14 in Muncie, despite giving up 363 rush yards to Army's ground oriented offensive attack.

There is no question Stanford has the talent, particularly on defense, to win this game by 30 or more points; the only real question is whether or not they will. The Cardinal are not the kind of team to register a lot of 20 or more point victories (only had two last season), but this sets up as one of those.

The Black Knights will be fortunate to score 10 points and they can expect a truckload of short-lived drives against the Cardinal's stingy defense.

Stanford vs Army NCAA College Football Odds

Stanford Cardinal -29.5 (-110), Over 51 (-110), -7500 (Moneyline)

Army Black Knights +29.5 (-110), Under 51 (-110), +3250 (Moneyline)
