A big game in the PAC-12 on Saturday Night Football will see the No. 22 Arizona Wildcats travel to take on the UCLA Bruins. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 pm start time and it will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network. Currently the odds have UCLA favored by a field goal.
Quick, how many road wins does the No. 22 Arizona football team have? If you answered "zero" you'd be correct. But what has hurt the Wildcats is that they've only played twice on the road so far this season. They were torched by Oregon and lost in overtime to Stanford. Can they get their first win away from home in this one tonight? The oddsmakers say no, but Arizona and coach Rich Rodriguez feel up to the task.
It's no secret that RichRod teams love to push the ball and throw it down the field. So far this season they rank fourth in the country in passing yards with 354 per game. Matt Scott has thrown for 20 touchdowns and more than 2,200 yards this season and he'll look to put up numbers against a UCLA defense tonight. Arizona has won two straight games over Washington and an upset win at USC last week.
The Wildcats have beaten UCLA five straight games (4-1 ATS) and have been nearly 220 yards better than the Bruins in every single game. Arizona has won the five games by an average of 34-17. This could be a lot tighter than any of those games as UCLA comes into the game with a 6-2 record. Don't fool yourselves, each of these teams believe they can still get to the Rose Bowl if Oregon keeps winning and potentially plays in the BCS title game. It certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Each team has to cut down on turnovers and we believe they have the biggest impact on the game tonight. Arizona has gone +4 in the turnover department this season while UCLA sits at +1. We expect points, yards, big plays and little defense in this contest tonight. Brett Hundley could throw for several touchdowns much like Scott in this contest. We don't see either defense being able to stop the other offense and each team should get to 35 points without a problem.
However, we are going against the home team in this game. They're favored by a field goal but we like Arizona to get their first win away from home this year. We're expecting big things in a big way in this contest. Expect fireworks.
