The game has a start time of 2:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on the Pact-12 Network. Current Vegas odds have the Ducks listed as 42.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 63.5.
Analysis: The Wyoming Cowboys are off a nice 17-13 win over MWC foe Air Force. The win now has them at 2-0 on the year, but have still not scored more than 17 points in a game. They will have to in this game to have any chance of keeping it close. Despite beating the Falcons, Wyoming still struggled in the game as they were outgained by 44 yards, hit just 29% of their third downs and were able to rush for just 50 yards on 26 carries (2.0 ypc). Colby Kirkegaard did have a solid outing in the game as he hit 23 of 37 passes for 287 yards and 2 TDs and zero INTs. Overall the Cowboys rank 113th in total offense (317 ypg) and 116th in scoring (17 ppg), while on defense they are ranked 42nd in yards allowed (315 ypg) and 20th in points allowed (12.5 ppg).
The Oregon Ducks are also 2-0 on the year, and come into this game off a huge battle vs Michigan State, in which they won 46-27. The game was close for a bit and Michigan State actually held the lead at the half before the Ducks outscored them 28-3 in the 2nd half. Oregon rolled up 491 yards in the game, but still only outgained the Spartans by 25 yards in the contest. Marcus Mariota had a solid game hitting 17 of 28 passes for 318 yards and 3 TDs, while also rushing for 42 yards on 9 carries. The Ducks come in ranked 8th in the nation in total offense (582 yards) and 6th in scoring (54 ppg), while on the defensive side of the ball they rank 90th in yards allowed (418 ypg) and 54th in points allowed (20 ppg).
Pick: I will look for Wyoming to keep this one with in the huge number here. This is a sandwich spot for the Ducks, as they come off of a huge battle with Michigan State and have a road game vs Washington State on deck in a game that is their conference opener. Wyoming won’t come close to winning this one, but they do play solid defense and will slow the pace on offense, which should limit the Ducks chances at putting points on the board. Ducks by no more than 38 here.
