The Washington State Cougars’ quest for their first conference win continues this afternoon when they meet Pac-12 rival Utah at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City (3:00pm ET start time, Pac-12 Network). The latest Washington State at Utah College Football Odds have the hosting Utes listed as a -11 against the spread favorite and the game total set at 49 points. The Cougars are getting +320 moneyline odds ($100 wins $320) to end their five game skid.
Utah’s second season in the Pac-12 has been anything but pleasant with the team posting a 1-4 conference record through five league games.
Nonetheless, the Utes, who have been competitive (for the most part) in conference play, are on a bit of a high coming into today’s game. Last weekend Utah registered its first win since topping BYU 24-21 on September 15th by thumping a disappointing Cal team 49-27 in Salt Lake City.
Washington State would seemingly provide a great opportunity for Utah to win back to back games for the first time this season as the Cougars have lost five straight games, all of which were conference affairs.
Like Utah, though, the Cougars have, on most occasions, been a relatively tough out. Washington State outgained Stanford 385 yards to 256 in Palo Alto last weekend in losing 24-17 and it also stayed within two touchdowns of Oregon State in Corvallis despite turning the ball over five times.
