Vanderbilt looked like the same old Commodores through four games, posting a 1-3 record with its lone win coming against Presbyterian. The last four weeks have been un-Vandy-like, though, with the team recording a 3-1 mark thanks to wins over Missouri, Auburn, and Massachusetts.

The recent success has given the Commodores an opportunity to improve to 3-3 in SEC play when they square off against the Wildcats tomorrow.

Recent history is decidedly in Kentucky’s favor here as the Wildcats have won and covered the spread in four of their last five meetings with Vanderbilt; however, their play this season hardly inspires any confidence they can keep that run alive.

Kentucky fell to 1-8 last Saturday with a 33-10 loss at Missouri; the setback marked the team’s seventh consecutive loss and its sixth in conference play. The Wildcats managed just nine first downs and 179 total yards in falling to the Tigers.

Despite Kentucky’s horrific stretch, it has played more inspired football at home. The Wildcats four home losses came by an average of 10 points per game (Western Kentucky, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Georgia) while they were outscored 152-31 in their four road losses.
