No. 10 Louisville will look to stay among the ranks of the undefeated this Saturday when it plays host to Big East newcomer Temple at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium (12:00pm ET start time, ABC). Louisville has played with fire on a number of occasions this season, slipping past a horrible Southern Miss team 21-17 and a disappointing South Florida squad 27-25, and it continued the tight rope walk last Friday against Cincinnati.

The Cardinals rallied to get past their Big East rival 34-31, but they needed 14 fourth quarter points and an overtime period to do so.

Louisville would seemingly get a breather this weekend with Temple in town, but its track record suggests nothing is certain, even against a slumping Owls team.

Temple appeared as though it had adjusted to its new surroundings through five weeks of play, improving to 3-2 overall after recording back to back conference wins against South Florida and Connecticut. However, the Owls enter tomorrow’s game floundering after getting blown out 35-10 by Rutgers and 47-17 by Pittsburgh.

While undefeated, Louisville could provide an opportunity for Temple to get back on track, if only from a morale standpoint. The Cardinals have defeated only two opponents by more than 11 points this season, and those contests came in weeks one and two when they knocked off an awful Kentucky team and an FCS school in Missouri State.
