Rivals Central Florida and Tulsa are on a collision course for a Conference USA Championship Game meeting, but first the two squads will square off today at Chapman Stadium in Tulsa (12:00pm ET start time). Saturday College Football Central Florida at Tulsa Odds are favoring the hosting Golden Hurricane at -1.5 against the spread while the game total is set at 56 points.
Conference USA East leader Central Florida has yet to lose a league game this season, but it has experienced a couple of close calls en route to its 6-0 conference record. Winless Southern Miss, last year’s CUSA champion, took the Knights to overtime on October 13th and UTEP gave them a fight last week before falling 31-24 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso.
Today will serve as UCF’s most difficult league challenge to date, though, as the Golden Hurricane feature the same 6-0 conference mark. Like Central Florida, Tulsa has been tested by a league foe, but it managed to escape unscathed, edging Rice 28-24 at Chapman Stadium.
Tulsa has also stayed undefeated at home this season, beating Tulane, Nicholls State, Fresno State, UTEP, and Rice by an average of 22.4 points per game. In fact, the Golden Hurricane is 11-1 in its last 12 home games against CUSA competition with the lone loss in that stretch being last year’s regular season finale opposite an undefeated Houston squad.
Tulsa has won three of the five meetings between these two schools and it broke a 2-2 tie in the series last year with a 24-17 win over the Knights at BH Networks Stadium in Orlando.
