Saturday College Football Baylor at Iowa State: Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Iowa State will attempt to half its slide down the Big 12 standings this evening when it welcomes the Baylor Bears to Jack Trice Stadium in Ames (7:00pm ET start time). Baylor at Iowa State College Football Odds are expecting the Cyclones to do just that as they enter tonight’s contest a -3 against the spread home favorite. The Over/Under in this Big 12 dust up is set at 70.5 points; Baylor is a +120 money line selection ($100 wins $120 should the Bears win outright).

Iowa State roared out to a 3-0 start, earning wins over Tulsa, Iowa and Western Illinois, but the wind has come out of the team’s sail in recent weeks. Paul Rhoads’ troops are 1-3 in their last four games, all of which were in conference.

The Cyclones did earn an impressive 37-23 road when at TCU, but they fell 24-13 and 27-21 to Texas Tech and Kansas State, respectively, at home. Iowa State’s worst loss of the season took place last weekend, though, when it got pummeled 31-10 in Stillwater by Oklahoma State. The Cyclones defense got lit up for 28 first downs and 625 yards in the loss.

All the same, Baylor may be just what the doctor ordered for Iowa State. The Bears opened conference play with a 3-0 record, but they come into today’s game with a 3-3 mark after falling to West Virginia, TCU, and Texas.

Baylor’s offense is explosive and able to put points on the board against almost any team in the country, but its defense is among the worst in college football. The Bears have yielded 70, 49, and 56 points in their three Big 12 games, and they should allow Iowa State struggling offense to get back on course today.

The biggest question, as is always the case with Baylor, is whether or not it can keep up with its opposition. Based up its recent results, the answer is no. The Bears have yet to get within three points of a Big 12 squad this season and they are 1-3 both straight up and against the spread in four trips to Ames, Iowa.

Baylor Bears at Iowa State Cyclones College Football Odds:

Baylor Bears +3 (-110), Over 70.5 (-110), +120 (Moneyline)

Iowa State Cyclones -3 (-110), Under 70.5 (-110), -140 (Moneyline)
