Mississippi State welcomes SEC West rival Arkansas to Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville today as it looks to halt its slide in the divisional standings. The meeting between the Bulldogs and Razorbacks has a scheduled start time of 12:21pm ET; it will be broadcast live on the SEC Network. Saturday College Football Arkansas at Mississippi State is favoring Dan Mullen’s squad at -6 against the spread. The game total is presently set at 55.5 points and the Razorbacks are drawing +190 moneyline odds to win outright.

Mississippi State opened the season with an incredible 7-0 run, but few believed the team was as good as its record. The Bulldogs constructed their unblemished record against a host of poor to mediocre teams, including Auburn, Kentucky, Jackson State, and South Alabama.

Mississippi State’s perfect start has been exposed over the last three weekends, though, with the school losing to Alabama, Texas A&M, and LSU by an average of 25.3 points per game.

Despite their recent slide, the Bulldogs have already locked up a postseason appearance, but they will probably feel much better about themselves if they can close out the regular season with wins over Arkansas and in-state rival Mississippi.

The Razorbacks certainly represent a break with the Bulldogs having played against a top 10 team three consecutive weeks; however, Arkansas is still a shade above most of the teams Mississippi State faced earlier in the season.

Tyler Wilson and company have some holes, but they have won three of their last five games. Arkansas also has some incentive left as a 2-0 run to finish the season would make it a bowl eligible 6-6.

The Razorbacks may not feel too good about their chances next weekend with LSU visiting Fayetteville, but they probably believe they can get the job done today. Arkansas has won nine of its last 10 games against Mississippi State, and it has won five times in its last six trips to Starkville.
