The Saints usually effective offense tallied just 12 first downs and 188 yards as Drew Brees completed 23 of 38 passes for 147 yards. While New Orleans struggled to move the ball, Seattle excelled at it, posting 429 total yards and a 6.2 yards per play average.
Rarely does an NFL team suffer back to back humiliating losses to an opponent; however, it was evident from their previous meeting the Saints have a lot of ground to make up in order to compete with the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.
Some would say New Orleans' Wild Card win at Philadelphia last weekend points to it covering some of that territory, but the team had too many road blemishes for one game to wipe them clean. Going into the Eagles game the Saints had lost five of their previous six road games and they had not defeated a winning team away from home all season long.
