It has been a miserable year for both Purdue and Indiana, but one of the two squads will end the season on a high note as they battle for the Old Oaken Bucket this afternoon. Today's meeting between the Boilermakers and Hoosiers is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30pm ET at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington; the game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. Indiana is listed as a -20 against the spread favorite in the latest College Football Odds while the game total is set at 66.5 points.

A number of pundits thought Indiana had an opportunity to make some noise in the Big Ten this season with 10 starters returning from last year's much improved offense; however, the team's promising start has turned into a disaster.

The Hoosiers won three of their first five games and they opened conference play with a 44-24 win over Penn State, but they are just 1-5 since, suffering double digit losses to Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio State.

Indiana's offense all but disappeared in its last two outing with the team scoring a combined 17 points against the Badgers and Buckeyes. Despite the drop off, the Hoosiers should rediscover some of their moxie against Purdue.

If Indiana is having a bad season than it is difficult to come up with the proper adjective to describe what Purdue has gone through this year. The Boilermakers number tell the story as they are 1-10 overall and 0-7 in Big Ten play.

Purdue managed to be competitive in a win over Indiana State and in losses to Notre Dame and Illinois, but other than those three outings it has been nothing short of horrific for Darrell Hazell's squad.

The Boilermakers are averaging just 9.7 points per game against league foes while giving up 36.8 points per contest.

So while Purdue owns a huge advantage in this rivalry series (72-37), it is probably staring at a loss this afternoon and a big one at that.
