Week 12 NFL gets underway tonight and the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to O.Co Coliseum to take on the Oakland Raiders. The game has a start time of 8:25 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on the NFL Network. Current Vegas odds have Kansas City listed as 7 point favorites, while the total is set at 42.5.
Analysis: The Kansas City Chiefs are emerging as one of the best teams in the league, as they come with a 7-3 record on the year, including a 3-2 record on the road. They are also tied with the Broncos for first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 vs. the AFC. and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game, but 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games after accumulating less than 150 yards passing in their previous game. The Chiefs have a rather average offense, ranking 23rd in total yards, 31st in passing, 4th in rushing and 12th in scoring (24.1 ppg). The defense has been very good for the Chiefs, ranking 8th in total yards allowed, 1st vs the pass, 25th vs the run and 2nd in points allowed (17.1 ppg).
The Oakland Raiders are clearly the worst team in the league, as they come i with an 0-10 record overall, including an 0-5 record at home. This is not a good team at all. The Raiders are 2-13 ATS at home between away games if playing a division opponent and 27-55-1 ATS in their last 83 home games, but we also note that the dog is 11-3 ATS the last 14 in the series. The Raiders have the worst offense in the league, ranking 32nd in total yards, 26th in passing, 32nd in rushing and 32nd in scoring (15.2 ppg). The defense has been bad as well, ranking 18th in total yards allowed, 12th vs the pass, 27th vs the run and 28th in points allowed (26.5 ppg).
Pick: This game will feature two running teams that play at a very slow pace and while one defenses isn't great, the other one is. Overall the Raiders offense is pathetic as they come in averaging just 15.2 ppg, which is last in the league. They are also last in total yards and rushing, while ranking 26th in passing. This is not a good offense and i surely don't expect them to break through vs a very tough that is 1st in the league vs the pass and 2nd in points allowed, giving up just 17.1 ppg. The Chiefs can be run on with the 25th ranked run defense and that should be the way the Raiders will have to attack them, which will keep that clock moving. The Chiefs are 31st in passing, but 4th in rushing and that is their primary method of moving the ball and should be able to on the 27th ranked Raiders run defense. Lets also note that the Under is 18-6 the last 24 meetings and 7-2 the last 9 meetings in Oakland. Both teams are conservative on offense and with all the running and a very good Chiefs defense of the Chiefs this game should be played in the lower 30s.
