The Denver Nuggets quest to reel in the Northwest leading Oklahoma City Thunder continues tonight as they host the Philadelphia 76ers at the Pepsi Center. Start time in this evening’s East versus West clash is set at 9:00pm ET; the game can be seen live on Altitude Sports. Thursday NBA Odds have the hosting Nuggets listed as a -14.5 against the spread home favorite; the Over/Under is set at 205.5 points.
The Miami Heat’s ridiculous 24 game winning streak has the Nuggets flying under the radar a little bit as they have ‘quietly’ won their last 13 games.
Denver’s run, which has featured home and road wins over Oklahoma City, has it sitting three games back of the Thunder, who served as the Nuggets latest victim, in the Northwest standings with a 47-22 record.
Denver, playing as a 9.5 road underdog, took out OKC on Tuesday night at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Nuggets topped the Thunder 114-104, overcoming a 34 point effort from Kevin Durant. Denver, which made 24 of its 29 free throw attempts, got a team high 25 points from Ty Lawson. Kenneth Faried produced a 13 point, 15 rebound double double in the win and Andre Miller contributed 20 points and nine assists in 23 minutes off the bench.
Philadelphia, after a disastrous 1-12 run, has played better of late, winning three of its last five games. Nonetheless, the Sixers opened their current four game road swing with an ugly 101-72 loss to the Clippers last night. The setback dropped Philly’s record to 26-41 overall and 6-24 away from home.
Denver, which owns a 30-3 record at the Pepsi Center, is 8-0 straight up and 7-1 against the spread in its last eight games as a home favorite with a game total between 205 and 210 points.
