The AFC Championship Game will take pace this Sunday when the New England Patriots travel to Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos. Current odds have Denver listed as 4.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 55. The game will be televised on CBS and has a start time of 3:00 pm (Eastern). 

Analysis: The New England Patriots made it to this game by dispatching the the Indianapolis Colts by a 43-22 score. In the game, Tom brady had a weak performance, throwing for just 198 yards on 13 of 25 passing and he had no TD's in the game. The Pats really didn't need Brady to do all that much as they ground game dominated the Colts. LeGarrette Blount led the way on the ground with 166 yards and 4 TDs as the Patriots as a team piled up 234 yards rushing in the game. The Patriots have not been all about the pass this year, as injuries to the WR corp has made their adjust their attack this year. They still are 10th in passing, but their run game comes in ranked 9th in the league and it was a huge part of their win over the Colts.

The Denver Broncos didn't play their best game last week, but they did enough to beat the San Diego Chargers and move on to this showdown with the Patriots. The Broncos only won by 7 points in that game, but they still they used a ball control offense to outgain the Chargers by 104 yards and outfirsdowned them by 13 in the game. It was a different kind of offense than the high flying one that we were used to seeing all year. The Broncos were the highest scoring team in the history of the NFL this year as they averaged 37.9 ppg on 340.2 ypg through the air, which was tops in the league this year.The worry for the Broncos in this one could be their pass defense which ranks 27th in the league, allowing 254.4 ypg. The Pass defense took a major hit in the win over San Diego as DB Chris Harris has been lost for the year with a knee injury.

Prediction: Denver 31-27
