The Miami Heat venture into to enemy territory tonight as they face the tough-as-nails Indiana Pacers at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. This evening’s Game 3 showdown between the Heat and Pacers is scheduled to get underway at 8:30pm ET on TNT. NBA Odds from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes have the defending champs listed as a -1.5 against the spread and -122 money line favorite ($122 wins $100). The hosting Pacers are drawing a +102 money line and the game total is set at 181.5 points.

Miami suffered its second loss of the 2013 NBA Playoffs on Friday night as the Pacers bounced back from their gut wrenching 102-103 Game 1 overtime setback with a 97-93 Game 2 victory.

Indiana did not abuse the Heat’s defense, but it did have its way of sorts as Roy Hibbert and Paul George paced a 50 percent shooting effort. Hibbert and George combined for 51 of the Pacers 97 points as they connected on 19 of their 31 shot attempts.

As a team Indiana shot 50 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 81.3 percent from the charity stripe (32 attempts).

Perhaps, more importantly, though, the Pacers shut down the Heat’s vaunted offensive attack, leaving LeBron James to shoulder almost all of the scoring load in the game’s final frame. James certainly did what he could to carry his team, scoring 36 points on 14-of-20 shooting, but he got virtually no help from the likes of Dwyane Wade, Norris Cole, and Mario Chalmers.

Miami’s recent history as well as last year’s playoff series with the Pacers would suggest it is ready for a rebound this evening; however, this is not last year and these Pacers look like they are more up to the task. Indiana has also been a powerhouse at home in the playoffs, posting a 6-0 record at the Bankers Life Field house (14 point margin of victory average).
