No. 5 Stanford will look to stay undefeated tonight when it squares off against Utah at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. This evening's conference clash between Stanford and Utah is scheduled to kickoff at 6:00pm ET on the Pac 12 Network. According to the latest Pac 12 College Football Picks at 5Dimes, the Cardinal are a -8 against the spread road favorite. Tonight's Over/Under is set at 53 points.

Utah is probably not off to the kind of start it had hoped for; however, there have been plenty of encouraging signs for the Utes through seven weeks of play.

Kyle Whittingham's squad has nice wins over quality teams in Utah State and BYU and its losses to Oregon State and UCLA were by a combined 10 points. What is more, the Utes kept both of those games close despite being -7 in turnover margin.

The fact that it has played several good teams and competed well against them has to give Utah confidence as it heads into tonight's meeting with Stanford.

The Cardinal have shown few cracks, but they were statistically dominated in last Saturday's game against Washington in Palo Alto. The Huskies racked up 30 first downs and 489 total yards to Stanford's 14 and 279, respectively, and, were it not for Ty Montgomery's special teams magic, it would have suffered its first loss of the season.

With a home game against UCLA on tap next weekend, the Cardinal will need to be extremely careful not to look past Utah. If they do, next Saturday's showdown with the Bruins may hold less significance.
