Oklahoma State vs UTSA College Football Point Spreads Week 2

The Texas San Antonio Roadrunners welcome to No. 13 Oklahoma State to the Lone Star State this weekend for a Week 2 clash at the Alamodome. Saturday's meeting between Oklahoma State and UTSA is scheduled to kick off at 12:00pm ET on Fox Sports 1. The latest College Football Point Spreads from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes have the visiting Cowboys listed as a -26 against the spread favorite; the Over/Under in this weekend's game is set at 60 points.

Oklahoma State has always been known for its offense under head coach Mike Gundy, but the Cowboys defense may be the team's calling card this year. It certainly was in last week's season opener against Mississippi State.

The Pokes scored a 21-3 win over the Bulldogs after turning over Dan Mullen's squad twice and limiting it to 2-for-16 on third down.

Oklahoma State's offense sputtered much of the first half, prompting Gundy to sit an ineffective Clint Chelf (3-for-6 for 11 yards) in favor of the more mobile J.W. Walsh. The move was a smart one as Walsh completed 18-of-27 passes for 135 yards and rushed for a team high 125 yards on 13 carries.

Walsh not only did damage with his legs, his presence opened things up for senior running back Jeremy Smith, who finished the game with 102 yards on 15 carries. Smith also scored Oklahoma State's two second half touchdowns.

While Mississippi State is no world beater, it presented more of a threat to the Cowboys than Texas San Antonio will this weekend. That is no slight of the Roadrunners, just an indication they are taking a big step up in competition.

UTSA, which moved to the FBS last year, has a nice team with 18 starters back from last season's 8-4 squad, but it demonstrated on more than one occasion in 2012 it was not prepared for the better teams it faced.

The Roadrunners were embarrassed in meetings with San Jose State, Utah State, and Louisiana Tech last season, losing those three games by an average of 27.7 points per contest.

UTSA did prevail over New Mexico 21-13 in last weekend's opener, but the final score in that contest only provides more evidence Larry Coker's troops are nowhere near ready to compete with Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State vs UTSA College Football Point Spreads Week 2:

Oklahoma State Cowboys -26 (-110), Over 60 (-110), -4000 (Moneyline)

UTSA Roadrunners +26 (-110), Under 60 (-110), +2000 (Moneyline)
