Oklahoma City Thunder vs Atlanta Hawks NBA Odds, Free PIck

Tonight the Oklahoma City Thunder will take on the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The game has a start time of 7:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised locally. Current Vegas betting odds have Atlanta listed as 3.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 206.

Analysis:  The Oklahoma City Thunder had a rough start to the year as they began it without both Westbrook and Durant. The Thunder did start the year at 3-12, but clawed their way back to a 22-20 record, which includes a 10-13 mark on the road. OKC has gone 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Eastern Conference and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS win, but just 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 road games. The Thunder have been a below average offensive team his year, ranking 17th in scoring (100.2 ppg), 21st in shooting, 27th in 3 point shooting and 22nd in FT shooting. Defensively the Thunder have been decent, ranking 11th in points allowed (98.8 ppg), 2nd in defensive FG% and 7th in 3 point defense.

The Atlanta Hawks have emerged as clearly the best team in the East. Atlanta Comes into this game having won 13 straight games to push their record to 34-8 overall and 17-3 at home. This is a team that started just 1-3 in their first 4 games this year. The Hawks have gone 23-4 ATS in their last 27 games following a S.U. win and 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games following a SU win of more than 10 points, but just 1-10 ATS in their last 11 home games vs OKC. Atlanta has been very good offensive team his year, ranking 7th in scoring (103.2 ppg), 5th in shooting, 2nd in 3 point shooting and 10th in FT shooting. Defensively the Hawks lead the league in points allowed (96.1 ppg), while also ranking 4th in defensive FG% and 6th in 3 point defense.

Pick: Going to go with the Under in this one. The Atlanta Hawks have been on a roll and they have really locked it down on the defensive end of the floor, allowing just 91.5 ppg in their last 10 games. Overall this is the best defensive team in the league and they have allowed just 94.2 ppg at home. The Thunder have picked it up offensively of late, but still they average just 98.8 ppg on the road. Defensively the Thunder have allowed 101.6 ppg on the road, but just 92.2 ppg (Reg Only) in the first 3 games of this current road trip and they will take on an Atlanta team that averages just 101.9 ppg at home. The Under is 5-1 the last 6 meetings between these teas in Atlanta, while the under is also 6-1 when Atlanta takes on the Southwest Division and 17-8 in OKC's last 25 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Hard to see either team hit 104 points in this one.
