Ohio Bobcats vs. Penn State Nittany Lions College Football Start Time, Odds and Free Pick

The Penn State Nittany Lions look to move on from all the scandals, beginning their college football season today against the Ohio Bobcats. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 pm EST start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have Penn State favored by 6.5 points.

By now, if you haven't heard what Penn State University and the football program have been through, you've been living on an island with no contact to the real world. Nothing much else can be said about the situations that happened to the program, and Penn State University will look to move on. Today that healing begins as they welcome in a quality Ohio Bobcat football team. In the 2011-12 season, Ohio won 10 games, beating Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (yes, that's a real game). The Bobcats are a very good football team that returns starting quarterback Tyler Tettleton, who threw for nearly 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. Ohio has the ability to beat Penn State on the field tonight, let alone taking them down against the number as well. Running back Beau Blankenship is the team's returning leading rusher not named Tettleton and he will play an important role in today's game.

Penn State will be led by senior quarterback Matthew McGloin, who threw for only eight touchdowns last season and just a little over 1,500 yards. Losing Silas Reed, the team's leading rusher the past few seasons, to USC based on the program's penalties, is definitely going to hurt. Tailback Curtis Dukes now gets the nod as the starting tailback, and he's not exactly a solid stats guy for Penn State, having rushed for less than 300 yards last year. Penn State's defense is going to have to play very well in order for the team to win this game today.

The Penn State program is obviously in a bad spot and Ohio is a team that can beat them. With all of the distractions regarding Penn State and just how they're going to get back to football might prove to be too much. They've lost their two best offensive players and Ohio returns a very solid team overall. They're less than a touchdown underdog to a major Big 10 program, and that in itself says something here today.

Free Pick: We like Ohio and the points in this game today. We think they're going to win the game outright, but we'll gladly scoop up the points.
